It'll be interesting to read your prospective on it, then. As a Trek apologist, I can't say that I dislike the movie… but I couldn't say I liked it, either.

There are some excellent, excellent episodes to look forward to in DS9. Some of the episodes dealing with The Dominion War are fantastic.

Also…
If you haven't seen Generations yet, Zach, don't watch it yet. It's just a poor "series finale 2.0." It also slightly spoils the next season finale of TNG. It's also just not good (but still, in my opinion, better than Insurrection and definitely Nemesis).

I didn't pick up on that the first read-through, Zach, but I like it.

I always pictured the Klingons letting the captain die. The Ferengi would probably sell the flute, and the Vulcans would just bore the program to death.

I sort of liked the cut-backs, if only because the writer's weren't going for the "Which reality WAS actually reality?! Has Picard been Kaiman all along?!" angle. The biggest instance of that happening was the Season Six episode of Buffy where she thinks she's in a mental hospital. There are probably others I can't

Fun Fact Time!
Marc Alamo, aka Gul Dukat, is one of the guys Data beats at poker.

The ending is just fantastic. The look on Picard's face when Riker hands him the flute… Patrick Stewart just tears this episode apart.

Abbot and Costello Meet The Office!

Also, something overly complicated happens while you pull the trigger, causing the bullet to shoot out diagonally, hit a couple of metal objects, cut the cable holding a canoe up, which topples over onto you, pinning you down while the bullet opens up a vat of molasses, leaving you to watch in horror as sweet, sugary

It's the sign they are getting raptured next Saturday.

Either that, or it is her way of crossing from her reality into ours. Maybe it's some new method for the Time Lords to come back? That would be an explanation for the little girl regenerating at the end of episode 2. We'll see, I guess.

Yeah, the biggest problem with Abrhams Star Trek was the Star Trek fans that bash on it consistently. Like the Onion said, "Trek fans decry new Star Trek movie as being watchable, fun."

I'm all for covering DS9/TNG together like Buffy/Angel is together. We still need to get through the TNG movies though. Generations! First Contact! Insurrection…. Nemesis……..

The best gimmick posters on the AV Club. Until Caruso comes back.

Let's all just sit back and enjoy a nice, tall, cool glass of turnip juice.

Really now
People still believe in a God after this?!

That's true, Charles. I know in the Shatner novels he does mention various species of Borg (and even a human-centipede type Borg, although not connected ass to mouth). It was just a budgetary thing more than anything.

The Queen is the problem with First Contact, but it's just like Zach said: how do you write for a species like the Borg? If they hadn't had a Queen, it would probably have been a much duller movie, or at least a bit more ridiculous.

See that's why the Borg are hard to make sense of, Charles.
