It does draw from Holst's Mars, but I wouldn't say heavily. The triplet-two-three-four-and-five motive is the main connection, especially from the finale of the movement, but that isn't uncommon in most music from action movies, especially sci-fi.

Also a really cool way to open up DS9.

Obligatory
Now bring back Parks and Rec!

Assimilation
This was also the episode where the Borg got really scary. Not only are they nearly impossible to kill, but unlike Romulans or Klingons, who would enslave you (and give you a chance to maybe rise up, or escape and find sanctuary somewhere distant), the Borg turn you into them.

I can agree, but when done right a cliffhanger episode is just awesome, because everyone is in the same boat. What will the resolution be? Who will survive/die? It's a great little cultural thing to be a part of, however insignificant it really is.

Zack-
That chill you get from the first encounter with the Borg in BotBW has to be in part of the music during that scene. I know I talked about how the music really made the impact at the finale awesome, but those staccato beats with the choir when Picard says that awesome line, "We've engaged the Borg" is just

ZMF and "Whack" Handlen

Never speak ill of Sgt. Bilko!

Really, if you want a fan that will give each show an "A+" or 100% rating, there are plenty of fan sites on the internet that will do so. If you want actual criticism- with the ability to post a reason why you disagree- then you are good to go here. There are plenty of times I don't agree with a critic, but that

You'll end up in Slytherin for sure!

Community fucking OWNED tonight, hands down.

Per Memory-Alpha, it's about 71 years between Star Trek VI and the first season of TNG. But all promo stuff for TNG used the "about 100 years" thing.

@ Billy- he probably did, but that doesn't change the fact that the face (minus one mechanical part) of the person that killed your wife is looking right at you. Sisko's hatred towards Picard is what made him human. Had Sisko been forgiving, I think he'd be so much less interesting than he was.

Ethan Phillips
It's interesting (or ironic?) that the least annoying Ferengi in Menage a Troi goes on to play one of the more annoying characters ever created for Star Trek.

DS9 didn't start until the 5th or 6th season of TNG, if Zach even ends up doing that show (which he should, because it is all kinds of awesome).

Then it'd interfere with WWE wrestling, so no dice.

To further clarify: the show just didn't have any real direction. We had a few plot points- Graystone trying to create Resurrection, at least- but it didn't feel like it was moving somewhere. Had they had something like the STO prepping for their next big attack, or more stuff with the early Cylons, or something along

Ah, Ghost Hunters. "What was that? Did you hear that?!" Proof!

Not Really Torn About This
The show would have been fine, action or no, if the story had just been more interesting. It doesn't have to be so fast paced that you miss story elements, but it didn't need to go 3 MPH in order to pick up on *every* little detail.

You're right, Old Man. I forgot about that.
