Last Chance Kitchen is worthwhile, but it's unnecessary since many of the best chefs that leave the main competition early because of stupid team challenges (e.g., Bev, Nyesha, CJ, Kristen).  Instead of having a team challenge and sending one person home, they should have a cook-off between the two worst offenders…

Also, the producers have stated that they've shifted some story arcs from later books to earlier TV seasons and keeping everything more or less in a consistent time line.

we don't know it's been a week.  We don't know if it's been three months.  There's no compass on this show. It's a bunch of people arguing about stupid shit and occasionally someone dies.

The reason the 2nd season sucked is that dialogue was shit.  A lot of shitty dialogue isn't any better than too little shitty dialogue.
