Tori Amos's Little Earthquakes was an ex-girlfriend's favorite album in 1992.  I remember making out with her (the ex) in the middle of the night while the album played non-stop, over and over and over.  And, given the themes on the album, it was a bit weird thinking back on it.

He's correct to a point.  There was a rush in the homebrewing world (the experimental underground where beer trends get started) to ever greater hops bills.  But there's point of diminishing returns.  Personally, I prefer red and amber ales, malty brown ales, and the occasional porter.
