That particular story about Superman going to the end of time…I'm pretty sure it wasn't an Imaginary Story (for what that's worth-Yes.."Arn't They All") and the solution of the story is the classic "The universe starts over exactly as it did before" so he just goes forward until he reachs the point where he left.
