I liked the vast majority of the extended scenes in LoTR, except for the one with the ghost king. I thought that totally ruined any suspense that had been building, and that scene should have stayed cut.

I remember watching this as a kid back in the 80s. My family was so disappointed when they cancelled this show. Glad to see it getting the love it deserves, even if it's at this late a date.

Thanks for the reviews, while not a 30 something, I spent a lot of Sunday mornings with Pete and Pete before changing the channel to MSK3K. When she's old enough, I'm going to introduce my god-daughter to P&P… now hurry it the Hell up Nick, and release season 3 on DVD.

This and "first world problems". There was a Cracked article last week (I think) about how coach class on airplanes sucks, and someone trotted out the "first world problems" line. Because as we all know, only first worlders ever fly and are uncomfortable, or have problems with cell phone service, or deal with shitty…
Just wanted to say thanks for the write ups, going to miss them going forward.
Didn't Mao teach us about guns for Butters?
@Scruffylove: my brother was born 11 months after my mom had a tubal ligation, so I know how that goes.
I saw this referenced on a link on another story, with Fox News touting it as a "hit Conservative Christian movie"… sadly I thought it was just an April Fools prank. I was happier believing that than now knowing it's real.
I'll take that bet, gladly.
Adventure Time, Regular Show, and the upcoming Korra are the only things that make me wish I could afford cable TV again.
If you don't want to support Card financially, just buy the Ender books used. And really, just read Ender's game. Speaker for the Dead was filled with characters who acted like morons because it was in the script, and I didn't make it through Xenocide.
Skimmed the comments, but didn't anyone else mention the Star Wars Holiday Special? Or am I just old?
I remember seeing this on TV a few years after it came out in theaters back in early eighties when I was a kid. I think I was 12 or so at the time, and I remember Bridges' line about the fog around the island being "animal exhalation" was so stupid it threw me out of the movie. Even watching this on my little black…
