Confused by the "immolated herself" point.

He's over-the-top but definitely not at his Robin Williams-est.
Was Nelson Franklin good this week? I've liked him in his other roles (notably on The Office), but he was part of why I hated the second episode so much.
The Crazy Ones is worth watching for Bob Benson, even though he's not used particularly well. But he, along with Amanda Setton, does probably give the show the best looking 1-2 punch of any sitcom.
Completely agree - I basically fell in love with her watching this episode and don't need anyone doubting that she's one of the prettiest girls on TV.
When I saw the episode last night, I actually searched "Masturbation scene not really cut" on Twitter, thinking it might have been put back into the episode. I couldn't believe people, other than those who really need to see a hot girl fake-masturbating on TV, felt this in any way compromised the narrative.
Apparently his real name is Rowan Pope, but I only seem to recall people calling him Eli.
Really enjoyed this. It wasn't quite what I was expecting based on Todd's original review (based on his assessment of the tone, I figured it would have far more goofy and tongue-in-cheek moments than it did), but it was still pretty fun throughout.
It's definitely a real thing. I've even seen it enforced at chain restaurants, so I'd be shocked if a posh restaurant like the one portrayed on Modern DIDN'T adhere to that policy.
It was a recurring theme of the comments on EW, which is kind of media headquarters for the show, last year.
I think the same thing - I got kind of mocked for it last week, but I just think she has an inherent distance that makes it hard for her characters to connect with viewers.
*I wouldn't call last night's performance apathetic at all - if anything, she was overdoing the shock & awe with her facial expressions last night.
I know Claire's supposed to be neurotic and overly-controlling and all that, but I'm just not buying this notion that she would be that worried about leaving her son, who is now a FRESHMAN IN HIGH SCHOOL, home alone.
FX press site also says Boy Parts.
I don't know what any of these analogies are supposed to be proving, but they're not proving anything relevant to this discussion:
There is a common misconception that affirmative action conflicts with meritocracy. And it does sometimes. But it doesn't have to - and it isn't supposed to.
"I love the "meritocracy" argument, as if the people on SNL currently are the absolute best and funniest people on the planet."
Mind Your Manners is terrible. It's generic 90s pop-punk with a little bit of Motorhead in the percussion.
Great catch - and this is obviously what the show intended.
I just assumed that part of booking the band for the wedding involved accommodations. But I don't play in a wedding band - so maybe I've over-glamorized the profession
