I'm positive that scene was from the original pilot - so either they spliced it into a future episode or she rips her clothes off in every episode

Really dug this episode.  I had some doubts after last week, but this confirmed the show will be worth my while.

@avclub-ffc65e983f9490e53bd8419504a79cf8:disqus It's admittedly not a perfect analogy in the sense that Frank Ocean had support from a lot of recognizable hip-hop and rock names, far more so than Lana did when she went on SNL, but he was still far more known in concept than he was in reality.  It's not like he had any

I mean this hits on it.  If you're going to be a faux-underground artist that all the cool kids are supposed to like, you need to be a better live performer (at least live singer) than the Rihannas and Katy Perrys of the world.  If she is, she didn't prove it on her biggest televised stage.

"Honey and I" is the standout for me.  Cool Pretenders vibe.

No.  That whole "oh you're buying us drinks?  Even though you don't realize it, US actually refers to 800 people" only happens on TV and in movies.

Anyone else find the accents distracting?  Their attempts to keep to an American accent were laughable…

Also the girl on whom Barney used the "Scuba Diver" on How I Met Your Mother.

The show was so unbelievably cringe-inducing.  And while shows like The Inbetweeners prefaced the awkward bar & courtship-type scenes with the revelation that hot girls actually did find them attractive—at least until they embarrassed themselves—Stuart and Wade didn't even really catch that break.  It's not just that

Her impression completely flopped at the VMAs.  Wrong audience, no one knew what she was doing; no one associates the "that's pretty cool" aww shucks shtick with Miley anymore.

Phil'sosophy was last season.  Easily the best bit the show's done.

Lily killed it this week.  Loved the adoption line, and I also thought her work as a receptionist, though low brow, was gold.

I actually think it is her fault.  The writing wasn't great or anything, but it gave her character a lot of shortcuts to connecting with the audience, including all the opportunities to connect with the little girl (get it - she'd be a great mom!) and the torture scene with the guy from 90210.

"Evil."

I'm a huge Spader fan.  Alan Shore is one of my favorite TV characters of all time, and I thought he was really solid here.

Suddenly, the "I'm your father" reveal is a big deal again.  Scandal last season.  At least one other upcoming pilot this season (don't want to spoil)

Thought it was pretty cool how the Mother seemed to echo Robin and Victoria at times (and, perhaps, some of the other exes, but I didn't notice).

Oh, the analogy itself is brilliant and valid.  It's just the way they (particularly Andre) were explaining it that irked me.

As much as I love him in Curb and thus am happy to see more of him on TV, he's objectively one of the worst parts of a pretty bad pilot.  His acting is just atrocious.

I don't think the trailers look promising at all, but having seen it, it IS actually pretty good.
