She articulated it perfectly by herself. Dexter obviously would have found out (or at least suspected) what happened. That leads to some very specific outcomes:

As I ripped on last week, the best motivation I could find for the Isaak character was to show that love can consume even a cold-hearted, calculated killer, thus setting up the Dexter-Hannah relationship.

I actually think it's BS if they go this route. No, LaGuerta doesn't fit "the code," but she's trying to get him imprisoned for life. Perfect self-survival motivation to kill her.

He meant leave the scene. Not like…his life.

As I wrote later on here, it's not so much that Deb poisoning herself makes sense…it's that Hannah doing it makes even less sense. It screamed of "setup" for that reason.

She outed a terrorist congressman (who proceeded to help them stop a major attack on 300 soldiers) and single-handedly led them to capture the most dangerous and notorious terrorist in the world (and she also led them to his doorstep earlier in the season)

Just me or was the car scene with Baccarin and Lewis absolutely terrible? I'm so worried that people are going to rave about this one (perhaps even scoring her an Emmy nomination)…and it just flat-out sucked. The acting wasn't good. And the emotion wasn't where it needed to be.

Most of what you said is dead-on.

— So, the idea that Deb might have poisoned herself isn't even addressed? I admit, when I realize that she was in a car accident, the idea that she framed Hannah isn't as logical as I first thought (that is a *BIG* risk to take to frame someone), but still! Everything Hannah said to defend herself made plenty of…

I can't believe that wasn't even addressed (which makes me believe it wasn't meant to even be within the realm of consideration—and thus isn't what happened). It seemed so blatantly obvious.
