That's a fair point.  I guess I was just assuming they're always involved in the creative process, which might not actually be true.

I actually first thought the joke was that he didn't really put chloroform on the napkin and was basically just suffocating him.

I think it was said last week, but it's quite interesting to see how the show is always a little bit "clumsy" when it tries to go for the Curb Your Enthusiasm "it all comes together" ending.  Jenny delivered that bit with the edible underwear exactly the way someone would on Curb (reminded me a lot of how Rob Corddry

I probably did find the first one funnier (I was amazed by how much I enjoyed the Taco bit, and the impotent masturbation stuff was killer), but it seems strange to ignore the second one in the review.

Honestly, if you didn't think this was good by late season How I Met Your Mother standards, I don't know what show you think you're watching.

Felt like a callback to how she acted around Simon in Sandcastles in the Sand.  Believable for me; she clearly gets all ditzy when she's lovestruck.

Whenever she does something "sexy," it always comes off as goofy (think - the hair whipping on the motorcycle), and yet I wonder if she and the writers are actually in on the joke, especially since so many people here actually think those scenes ARE hot. It makes me resent her a little bit.

On the drama front, not sure what would be better (and with perennial top comedies like Parks & Recreation stumbling thus far this season, I'm not sure there's a higher-quality show in the comedy genre either).  You can make a case for TWD after the superb half-season, but somehow, I feel like saying "The Walking Dead

You might be right about Carrie projecting the "image" of a damsel in distress, but I'm not sure anything else you're saying makes sense.
