I woke last night to the sound of thunder
but it wasn't bob seger singing night moves. it was springsteen singing thunder road and kicking bob seger's ass in his sweet car, calling me out onto the porch so we could like, ride off together or something.

the apatow school is appropriate because its not simply referencing movies directing by judd apatow. the apatow school of movies would include: the 40 year old virgin, knocked up, superbad, funny people, forgetting sarah marshall, role models and i love you, man. not only does it tend to revolve around the same

yeah i watched it. so what?
as much as i like ben folds, was i the only one who thought NONE of the judges had anything to say about anything really? also, i really didn't think that nota group was great. i was kind of bored. i liked 40 andy's cuz i'm a sucker for the beatles, but man, they DO seem like the biggest

hey man, people like glee. i like glee. av club seems to like glee. its well crafted and happy and sad and silly all at the same time. however, entourage has been doing exactly the same thing for what seems like 20 seasons. lets give it a break.

okay okay okay
everyone cool out. COOL OUT! am i surprised that sandra bullock was nominated twice? yes. does it make me want to kill myself? eh. not really. i don't think she'll win in either category. in one, she's up against dueling meryl streeps (although they may cancel each other out), and in drama she's up

wow. when i secretly post to AV club when i'm supposed to be working i have horrible grammar!

its true that the ten commandments isn't really an easer movie, its more a of a passover movie. but the two usually happen around the same time, so in my childhood i associated the ten commandments with easter. we also used to watch the wizard of oz every year on easter.

you've never heard of this movie? really? are you being sarcastic? also, around easter people watch the ten commandments and/or a bunch of movies about jesus getting crucified. also, brightly colored eggs.

yeah man. jason robards really needed to kick tom hulce to the curb. he had other, nicer, more responsible children.

hey had yellow eyes!

Cleveland Rules.
Yes, i live within a very close proximity to the christmas story house. suck it. i also feel the need to add a "BUMPUSES! SONSABITCHES!"

its probably also problematic that at that age, i already felt very drawn to paul mccartney, and wanted nothing more than to accompany him on his adventures on the floor…wearing gum wrappers, bathing in orange soda. *sigh* a perfect first date.

"I can say no more."

My Pop Memories
Not that anyone will read this far down in the comments, but I knew I was a pop-culture geek around 5 years old. Not only had I watched Help! and A Hard Day's Night around 50 times already and had them memorized, but when questioned about who i wanted to marry when i grew up, i always answered : Kermit

do it up.
frankly, i'm all for a rehashing and oversensationalizing of ALL of our beloved supernatural heroes/villains. as long as they are sexy. and in a love triangle. that's the only way this works. oh. and if the tweens are involved.

Two Points
1. I wish every Gossip Girl episode could be a holiday Gossip Girl episode.
2. 12 WEEKS?!?! FML!

My Family Is Crazy
We've had many movie watching holiday traditions over the years, the most notable is watching The Ten Commandments on TV around Easter. We aren't particularly religious, but that movie is so epic and aired around the holiday without fail. People in my family even own this movie, but there is

If it hasn't been said, her name is Susan Norton, not Mears. That being said, I'm glad to see this inventory. Loves me some King.

a world in which emilio estevez gets SO stoned he can break a window with his guttural scream.

i did think for one split second that perhaps al was going to land on the mysterious celia when jumping from the roof, or some other such nonsense. or that she'd be driving, witness the suicide, and hit another car in surprise and shock. i'm glad these things did not happen. mostly i'm disappointed that al died
