No opinion on the comics, but I although I liked the Stand, I thought The Dark Tower series was superior.

Both of you - back to the Youtube message boards from whence you came.

Robin WIlliams would've been the worst casting decision in the history of cinema. Where does one find these "previous iterations"?

They missed out on Keanau Reeves as Dr. Manhatten though - emotionless, wooden-faced, unable to connect to the general populace…..

…..has anybody checked to see if he's breathing?

I actually saw Gaiman talk about it in Chicago a few years ago. He didn;t want to call it plagurism, but he didn't deny he thought there might have been some heavy "influence"

I'm love this. I'm into a very wide array of music, but have never really enjoyed country at all, so I'm gonna come along on this one.

BTW, I would go see a Preacher movie just to see Arseface perform those Oasis covers.

Sweet.

And in the Ennis flava…..I think, if they were to make another Hellblazer adaptation, Rake at the Gtes of Hell should be the choice.

How about the Books of Magic?
Oh yeah, they made it already and called it Harry Potter.

Sandman would get screwed up fer sher….
but how about adapting one of the Death miniseries?

How Evan Dorkin is not producing something for Adult Swim is beyond me.

They didnt adapt the specific story o Killing Joke in Dark Knight, but they nailed the dynamic of it. That's a big part of what made the movie.

It could be great, but if they screwed it up, it would be tragic.

Alright, alright, point taken. Disregard my critique.

I put together the entire 1st print run of Miracleman as a kid. I had no idea I could now use them to put a downpayment on a house.

Thanks eel for framing my comment better than I did. Most articles written for the AVclub seem to take into account a good deal of preexisting pop culture exposure - this is like writing a treatise on American cinema using Spielberg movies as your gateway.

Don't know about best writer in comics, but agreed on The Invisibles.

Sorry, that was a bit lazy
This series started with an interesting article on French New Wave, now you think people need a guide to discovering Superman? Comics are a medium filled with relatively undiscovered yet very available geekery - how bout some Cerebus?
