A younger Monica Potter.

I love Community, but I don't see its core element being about sentimentality, emotions, and character work. Of course, some episodes prove me COMPLETELY wrong, but there are other episodes where it's meta-cartoonish.

I watched it on-demand so I didn't see the ads. My mistake.

With your New Girl example, you're providing a great example where the writers did a great job incorporating the product placement naturally to the plot. That's a shining example, which Suburgatory obviously didn't meet.

@Claire Zulkey: Good point (and I see it now), but I didn't make much of it as I watched the episode.

Well 30 Rock and AD can pull it off so well (and ridiculously) because of the format of their shows. And generally, it's nice when the product placement can be part of the humor.

I don't actively like it, but I don't hate it. This episode more or less seemed like a filler  episode, but it was a mildly enjoyable 22 minutes, and that's good enough for me.

This episode wasn't great (and certainly a relative stinker), but it was still an enjoyable hour of television. As for the Surface product placement, whatever. It would have been more productive for Microsoft to have the text "Surface" show up within the show, like on a bus ad or something (even through they showed

Maybe I'm off, but I also figure the point of the promo is also to allure those casual fans and Lauren Graham fans (seeing as she's probably the most recognizable actor on the show, as well as Ray Romano).

This could wait until tomorrow's What's On?, but apparently Azita Ghanizada of Alphas-glory is joining Up All Night. That might be reason enough to tune in.

Also, it's been made clear that Lauren is on-the-rocks with Wyatt, and this relationship has been teased before. So it'll be clear that once the show progresses, the relationship will happen.
