Considering Parenthood is the spiritual successor to FNL, no surprises.

What's sillier is that ABC is repeating the season premiere of Suburgatory, rather than last week's stellar episode.

The casting call apparently is for a tomboyish friend from college. This show is a mess, and not even a hot one.

In my opinion, some of the best sitcoms on air currently are so successful because they set up strong characters (e.g. Happy Endings, Cougar Town), set up a strong world in which the characters operate (e.g. Louie, Suburgatory, Bitch 23, The League), or both (e.g. Parks & Rec, Community).

The bigger failure is that Mindy Kaling doesn't know the vision for her show, outside of the overarching rom-com aspects. Kaling's credited episodes were fine because she included some isolated dark humour, but otherwise the show lacks any sort of vision.

I would love for Drew to get Amy pregnant. Then he'd have to fucking man up, for a change. His character now is completely unbearable.

"Guest-star Lauren Graham is a lot of fun as Amy. She’s the right kind of comic actress for this show—funny, but always sweet."

Given she's the titular character, it's almost as if she is the glue that holds the show together.

I don't even have a problem with that part. He's just an insecure, bumbling douchebag who needs to shut up. The show would be eons better if Sarah and Drew were just gone.

Essentially FX is the home of good comedies, and TBS (minus Cougar Town) is the home of bad ones.
