Well, at the end of the day, my fantasy is to move to Portland Maine, but I don't think it's going to happen because of our jobs, etc.

Oh no, I just meant those neighborhoods might as well be Manhattan in terms of price/unavailability of decent apartments/similar. They're very nice otherwise (as is a lot of Manhattan for that matter).

In fairness, we've been here about 15 years, so got in before it got super expensive (if we had only had the $$ back then to buy a brownstone, sigh, they were so cheap, comparatively). But let me just make it clear Brooklyn Heights is not Brooklyn, for the purposes of this discussion. It's Manhattan. Same goes for…

The nomenclature is interesting all around; your name seems to compel some kind of tease, which you deliver half-heartedly. "Virulent Rivulet" is nice! It sounds like a palindrome, but it's not.

I'm glad you said that because I saw the movie a long, long time ago and don't remember it all that well, but I was confused to see the Michael Douglas character described as having gone on a "killing spree."

Totally agree the movie sucked, but, in fairness, the main character did get shot by his neighbor.

Never saw it, or wanted to, but when talcum, flour, or baking soda gets strewn around, my husband and I will still sometimes say "Powder" to each other in a heavy stage whisper, evoking the annoying TV ad that ran for that movie.

It's like a modern-day fable.

Well, I enjoyed your summary of Hoffa, anyway!
