That was a better movie than The Master.  Marky Mark may not be as good of an actor as Joaquin Phoenix but he inhabited that part in a way that made me want to laugh and cry at the same time.

Totally agree about the age thing, that bothered me a lot too.  It was a totally committed performance, but he just wasn't the right age for the part, and it was jarring.

Spirited Away and the Straight Story are two of my favorite movies ever, and it probably has something to do with the absence of violence or romantic love.  One does get tired of those themes.
