Thank you!  I came here to rectify that mistake, and found the good work already done.
Wish bars were open this morning round my way.

Loved not only for the story — I have fond memories of that tour, as I probably got into Neil Young more because of it — but for excellent story-telling.

I really like the need to compare music memoirs to memoirs (and books) as a whole.  So many of us (better read people) often forget that we don't read the thousands upon thousands of shittily-written, dull and formulaic books that get published — and sold — every year.
That said, I have a personal axe to grind about

When Jack is full-on Republican, I almost can't help but be swayed by the power of his conviction, he's just that eloquent and charming. When Baldwin did promos for NPR as Jack to convince voters that they should not donate money, it was very persuasive.
I'm so glad that the typical campaign operatives haven't figured

I loved these little stories so much — they are like little primers on why we tell stories in the first place (fame/glory; inspiring others; immortality; etc.)
My favorite has always been 1K Cats.  I am a cat person; I love the idea of Dream existing in non-humanoid realms — made me hope for other animal's takes on

Liked both of them — loved Cloud Atlas, actually — but — I never got the reincarnation theme from Cloud Atlas AT ALL.  Read it twice; love the theme of connections through-out time; had some fun envisioning the "idea" of Cloud Atlas all around me for a few weeks after the first read.
But to me, the reincarnation theme

I didn't mean to come across so dark — I very much agree that these books became classics for a reason — but I don't see or meet people much these days who have read them.  Even among my peer group — children's librarians, for the most part — none of them had read Wizard of Oz or Black Beauty.  So if we aren't passing

Well, yeah, the actual solution was a bit of a cheat — but I did find it better than "something else saves him at the last second and then the book ends."  See all other books except HP6 and 3.
The main reason why I still think it's the best book is probably due to the fact that I don't like HP4 much — long and

Parents buy picture books.  They are unlikely to buy new ones, unless they have already turned into new best sellers.  They will buy (or borrow) the ones they grew up with as kids.  (They will borrow new ones, as they don't lose anything by testing them out.)  Presumably, these are books that have survived the test of

Which one?  I've only caught a couple of spelling mistakes so far.  (The problem with walls of text.)

IRL, I'm a children's librarian who stumbled across these books as they were really taking off.  I can't fathom children truly appreciating all the thought, references, and lack of answers that were so obviously put in their by Handler for children to discover later — or for precocious children to learn about as they
