Lizzy Caplan went from 'who?' to 'OMG MUST SEE EVERYTHING SHE'S IN' in record time

costumes
I bet she wears a tracksuit at some point.

Paste Magazine is giving this record a pretty similar push. I like Dawes, but it's odd that two separate media outlets are pushing a smaller band like this.

Add me to the list of people disappointed that this apparently isn't all that great. And since Pixar aimed for Cars 2 and I've got amazingly low expectations for that, animation this year isn't looking so good.

I imagine that's lumped in with the 'real-time entertainment' category also, which I'm guessing is anything that's being streamed. I'd wager Pandora and YouTube would fall in that category also.

This was cool. To me, Duff always came across as more….down to earth and normal, I guess.
This does make me wonder what on earth Izzy is up to though.

I kind of liked that song. Stupid lyrics, but musically it's all right. I wouldn't admit that in person though, because then I'd be admitting I was ok with a song named 'Burrito'.

My first thought was 'Kristen Wiig'? And I'm glad to know I wasn't the only one thinking that.

I was only 13, but I remember Paul's Boutique as pretty much a total failure for years. Seems that everyone I knew was wanting Licensed to Ill pt. 2, and wrote them off when they didn't get it.

Right on with the Close Lobsters. Their stuff was out of print, but Foxheads Stalk This Land got reissued a couple years ago (I'm not sure about Headache Rhetoric). And they got a 'best of' type compilation out that I think is still in print but I'm too lazy to check.
And now off to listen to A Prophecy

Do you even know what a plethora is?

genre?
Horror? "Dark comedy"? Supernatural thriller? All of the above?

nice
"Ellen Page…. his enthusiastic and sexually aggressive sidekick"

This review did nothing to dissuade me from wanting to see it.

I'm slightly confused. So people are happy that Lupe went to #1 (haha, screw you record company!), but the consensus is that it really isn't a very good album (so….Atlantic was right?).

but
Pitchfork gave it a 5.0. And in my book, that must mean it's good, because Pitchfork reviews are not to be trusted.

sweet indeed
Based on that plot description alone, this might be the movie of the year.

I totally skipped that Udo Kier interview. Looks like I'll have to go catch up on that, because right now Gallagher is my #1 avclub interview.

meh
one notes that Beat Happening is absent from that list.

I'll be cautiously optimistic that this somehow leads to a Sean Young sighting. Sean Young was a babe.
