I was surprised too, and I think it's because more than any other superhero, people come with the most preconceived notions about Superman. When this film didn't conform to them, they couldn't get past it.

Obviously it has nothing to do with your own taste. but RT or Metacritic is a pretty good way to measure how well a movie works.

I really haven't been enjoying the film reviews lately, but I'm hoping all they new guys are still just settling into their roles.
