Ran was my first "art" film too - at least the first one I saw at my town's lamentably lost art house cinema. I didn't know anything about the movie going in, but by god I left that theatre worshiping Kurosawa. That scene with Kaede where Kurogane has returned without Sue's head is one of my favourites in any film

I agree with Tommy. My favourite is generally Ran there are so many exceptionally good movies choosing from them is impossible.

I hated rap because when "The Message" came out it was like a call to arms, like early punk but more literate, and there seemed to be such hope for it. It was a song about how poverty makes it difficult to simply get by - the viewpoint in the lyrics is from someone who wants to take care of their family and keep out

Just dusting off a very old Liberace joke. Vintage topical humour.

Says Douglas to Damon
"Push my stool in a little farther, would you?"

I want some Dementia 5 from the old cartoons; trippy fucked-up shit.

Optimistic, yes, but I think you're not being as cautious as you could be.

That's the first time I've heard it used in the subjective mood .

My log saw something

Too true, too true.

@PrepH - from the things I've heard his statement about not wanting to be a slave or master was just for show.
