The only other network television show that (I can think of right now) has had excellent seasons consisting of 20+ episodes, is Buffy. The others are all 13 episode series like The Wire and the last three seasons of Friday Night Lights. I have never seen The Shield, so maybe that compares.

A- for this season? C'mon, it was an amazing season. It took the show to a completely new level of story telling on television and story telling about women. With episodes like "Hitting the Fan," "The Last Call," "All Tapped Out" and "A Few Words," surely an A is the deserved grade. But maybe I just love the show too…
