It's the season premiere. Pretty much all shows start from the surface every season, so as to accommodate new viewers. (Including Community.) If you're going to get more complicated, great — and Community will get more complicated this year. But you build to that.

Maybe Abed just likes Fred Willard. Maybe he's (understandably) a little uncomfortable around Pierce. Maybe he thinks, "hey, you know what would be great? If instead of this weird old kind of racist guy, Fred Willard was in the study group." Doesn't really need to be more complicated than that.

Community reruns start fall 2013 on Comedy Central. They might need to wait another year on strip syndication, though — they'll only be up to 84 episodes by the end of season 4.

It's a funny name!

Teachers do get paid — not enough that anyone can make a living out of it, though, I think. I know a bunch of regular teachers at improv theaters, and when they do mention their teaching income, it's usually something like $10,000 a year. A nice bonus, but they still need jobs — either acting/writing work or some sort

Oh, don't worry about the set. The set's been in storage for a couple months now.

Wow… 91? Hate to admit it, but Whitney looks good for her age.

Parks has been up around 1.8-1.9 for a few weeks now. It's the one NBC comedy that's definitely getting renewed.

Wait — you mean the show about an abandoned mining camp now populated solely by mountain lions? I thought that was on the Discovery Channel.

I know a few. But they don't have any influence on the TV ratings.

Pretty sure it doesn't work that way. The ratings definitely matter to Sony, though, because if the show gets renewed, they can sell NBC another season and get this show to syndication.

Or Richard Erdman! Leonard is Pierce now!

That's, like, three minutes!

Wow… "Tallulah." Good call.

You see, I can see that, but I already nominated "Starshy"/"Tool" later on in the thread…

Give 'em Enough Rope is very underrated. (Coming after the self-titled and before London Calling will do that.) But I don't think this matches up to the first two songs on London Calling, and… well, what are the first two on "The Clash"? Does the US version count?

"Victoria" is so much better than "Yes Sir No Sir", though… I feel like it's too unbalanced.

That's a good one.

That's a stretch. Late-period Sleater-Kinney? Eh.

Same way here — listened that album dry in '03-'04, left it alone for years, came back to it six months ago.
