Just like last time's episode, I thought.
Just like last time's episode, I thought.
I wouldn't say they need more drama or back story per se, but everything else I totally agree with.
Note the "what shall we do about BMO?" sign which they'd written beforehand.
The Brotherhood without Banners shall hunt you down and kill you for sport.
I was very upset when Jaime neglected to throw him into the bear pit.
"Natural causes" does seem to be an EXTREMELY rare cause of mortality in Game of Thrones.
Ha yeah, I saw that. On the other hand, so many freaking Ts in this show. Theon Tyrion Tywin Tyrell WHAT
I think it's a weak spot in an average season, but recent episodes like the BMO one, the glitch one, and god damn, that pillow one, definitely keep the flame of greatness burning.
It was a promising little sand grain of an idea but I think the story really fell apart at the end.
Ahh, it all makes sense now. The animation was so much better than normal Adventure Time standards that it actually looked very out of place. Beautiful. But it was by far and away the most beautiful thing in the episode, and it showed up that animation is one of the less remarkable aspects of AT.
I had pretty much exactly the same opinion of this episode. Seemed really out of place for AT, in fact. Exactly as you said, some of the backdrops were especially pretty and James Baxter was really well animated for some reason. But that's not really what I watch Adventure Time for.
I'm pretty sure bastards aren't in line to the throne in any circumstance.
Not so much the dialogue… more the eyebrows.
I agree. Story was pretty awful actually, by AT standards. And some of the jokes, like the attempted running gag at the end were actually pretty lame… AT barely ever has lame jokes.
Clearly you haven't read the xkcd strip about the Flynn effect.
Wow, could you maybe talk out of your bum some more? That's an amazing talent you've got there.
"I really enjoyed the new comic about Bessel functions; you probably haven't heard of them".
Sure, a few comics are basically just self-congratulatory, if-you're-educated-in-this-field-you-understand-this kind of deals, but fairly regularly the comic does come up with a very intelligent, witty or aesthetically appealing idea. I don't know of any other science/maths/tech comics which are markedly better.
Are you really this narrow minded about the genre..? The comics are just a vehicle. They're there to encapsulate a simple idea, not to look good. When somebody tells you a joke, do you usually refuse to laugh because it was presented in spoken form rather than as a piece of visual art?
I've seen xkcd slides at Cambridge and MIT lectures.
