Turns out that I was right actually, the chicken soup thing was a last minute edit because the censors thought looking for medicine was too heavy.

On second thoughts, yeah.

I thought it was more alphanumeric than pleasant.

With the magical light tunnel replaced by a large, rather bemused red monster floating in empty space?

Random tangent; anybody else impressed how they're STILL thinking of crazy new things to do with Jake's body? Jake-inside-Jake was brilliant… it might even have topped Koala-inside-box-outside-Jake.

It was simply very funny self-refence and black humour that Finn forgot the entire episode, any moral insight he might've gleaned, and an entire life, wife, and kids.

This is further referenced by BMO's mug at the end, which says "#1 MO". ;)

The mayor was really taking things a step too far with "celepillowbration".

Well, this whole Rainicorn thing ain't gonna last forever!

Funny; for me that's what bumped the episode up from a B+ to an A-.

I don't think that one was meant to be dirty… the joke's just that, in a land where everything is turned into pillows and blankets, a pillow/blanket version of a pillow or blanket is still just a bog-standard pillow or blanket.

Maybe a pillow with a robot arm did it?

Yeah I really enjoyed this, too. Slight lull in the middle but all in all this was the funniest Adventure Time in ages.

"Best Pillow".

Why do you feel obliged to reduce anything weird and beautiful in this world down to drugs?

You make it sound as if three dimensional space is a new and irritating invention overused by the youth of today. I'm surprised you're not waving your stick at Adventure Time's brazen depature from the golden artistic standard of silent black and white footage.

Hah yeah I picked up the cute BMO look too. There's a lot I only noticed on my second viewing. F&J rambling about the data eating "a hummingbird and 47 grapes"… Peebles reprimanding her hand for trying to go French… Jake making the funny glitch noises with his mouth when they entered glitch world…

I really didn't see any narcissistic aspect. It was just getting one up on the Ice King, who had kinda been a bit of a jerk recently by destroying all of reality.

It's really hard to work out what I thought about this one. Did anybody else think that the writing was rather askew? As in, the characters and I guess the show in general lacked its usual mannerisms and vibe, and was kinda jarring? I don't think it was because of the animation - I didn't feel this way in the similar

Trust me, I'm not one of those people. This show has ice wizards and flying rainbow unicorns… obviously no scientific explanation is possible or intended. And the Candy People would naturally fit into the whole 'magic returning to Earth' thing.
