I'm with you.  I think it's unfair to call Louis CK ironic.  His story telling style has always been incredibly sincere, sometimes to a fault.  Surreal and ironic are not the same thing.

Yeah it takes the worst part of that comedy central show that was awful where they'd animate comedians' bits taken out of the context of their sets.
