This is as good an idea as Enos, The Misadventures of Sheriff Lobo, and The Lone Gunmen.
The demon and the rugby scenes didn't strike me as particularly abstract by the time the film ended, and are "explained" (to whatever degree that is possible). I guess this is a SPOILER, but the dark house seen in the beginning is not the family's.
Sachs' first film was actually The Delta, not Down in the Delta

The third book is decently written. The fourth is remarkably not engaging, which is a fault of the writing. In the fifth, it doesn't even seem like he cares anymore. The story is better, but the writing is awful. He even repeats himself in that book, using the same embarrassing description of sex two times: something…

I am curious as to why you think The Banishment squandered his acclaim. It was never even officially released in the USA, was it? While not quite as good as The Return, there are some really beautiful sequences.
what?
this is on at 11pm Eastern, not 10.
NOT REALLY SPOILERS BUT I AM PUTTING THIS HERE ANYWAY
I can understand why people think this film looks bafflingly terrible, but this director's previous film, Il Divo, is remarkably good. It's an exciting mess (and the use of music in Il Divo is really fantastic), so I'm hoping this is more of the same.
Doug Yule is unfairly maligned - the guy sang "Candy Says" (and many other great VU songs). Squeeze is unfairly maligned as well. It's certainly the worst Velvet Underground album, but it's not a terrible album.
I'm not offended. And I realize the history. It's just… still… wow. Maybe read the article? And some information about James Lyons? And get a little information about Last Address? And then see how you feel about it?
