I would have preferred to give up Magnitude. There would be no tears shed for Magnitude.

True. But now… it's back.

I was also in the solid A category. I was laughing out loud before the opening song!

They DID make out and then it cut, I thought.

Yeah, I feel the same about Starburns. He's not my favourite, obviously, and the actor wants out so I guess killing him off is one solution. I don't know, I just feel like it's… hmmm. Difficult to articulate.

Yeah I thought the reveal part was done well. I am spoilerphobic, so I was disappointed when I accidentally read someone's comment that one of the preview flash frames was of a funeral setup with a star on a coffin or urn or something, and the speculation was Starburns.

So, this may be pre-emptive but that's what internet speculation is for: what do we think of Starburns' death?

Yeah, it got pretty tired pretty fast. It needs to be subverted, and soon.

I actually thought that was the weakest part. I found it a bit plodding.

Joffrey started out pretty weak for me, but now he's taken detestable to a creepy new level. I think a lot more subtlety has come through his sadism now than was ever evident before with his constant petulance.

It's the opposite of funny - I was thinking to myself just hours before watching this "wouldn't it be funny if Joffrey pulled a Pete Campbell and went from being the guy everybody hates to the guy everybody loves to hate?"

Erm… son?

Brotherhood may be a Lord of Light thing, although that seems a bit unlikely. Probably a new faction. Which is just as well, because the limited character pool was getting a bit tired, amirite?

Oh totally. It's the execution here I felt was sloppy, not the concept.

@avclub-fff4ac4c2f46e5cd75ec8b515c235031:disqus Oh I totally agree, Cersei does tend to confront things directly. However, the two examples you give are issues that are out in the open - they're not subjects she's not meant to know. I can buy that she'd react negatively and have very strong feelings about it, and

I had wondered the same, this is a good response. Still, it IS weird that we haven't seen Joffrey, especially since Tyrion got rid of both the leader of the Gold Cloaks and now Pycelle.

I probably am overreacting. :) As I've said previously, it's a great episode in a great series, but this stuck out at me.

SG Standard and Overthinker, I agree, Cersei is not anywhere near as good as the others. But if Varys and Littlefinger are too smart to go against him on this, what's the point of testing them as well? And what has Tyrion learned from the exercise about them? Does this mean they're trustworthy to an extent?

I've restarted exactly one thread, since my original post was already at the end of a nested thread dedicated to a variety of topics, and I wanted to discuss this specifically. I was trying to make things easier.
