I really binged on Ellroy when I was about 17-18. Like nothing I've ever read before. I think Tabloid is his best still but I'm a sucker for fiction based around fact, especially at such an interesting time in America's history.

I really don't understand why anyone would think that White Jazz would be worth filming. Great book but I'd hate to have to adapt it. There seems to be a bit of a rush on Ellroy adaptations lately - White Jazz in the pipeline with Clooney attached as David Klein, plus that recent godawful Black Dahlia adap - so why not this one? Not as a film though, maybe a HBO miniseries.
