I really binged on Ellroy when I was about 17-18. Like nothing I've ever read before. I think Tabloid is his best still but I'm a sucker for fiction based around fact, especially at such an interesting time in America's history.

I really don't understand why anyone would think that White Jazz would be worth filming. Great book but I'd hate to have to adapt it. I actually read after posting my original comment yesterday that Clooney had bailed. Joe Carnahan's still onboard though so it could be good. Got burned too much by The Black Dahlia to

American Tabloid
There seems to be a bit of a rush on Ellroy adaptations lately - White Jazz in the pipeline with Clooney attached as David Klein, plus that recent godawful Black Dahlia adap - so why not this one? Not as a film though, maybe a HBO miniseries.
