Nah, Mountain Goats concerts don't work like that. It's basically understood that the whole thing's going to be a communal experience and that everyone's going to sing along— there's a few recordings where Darnielle just doesn't sing at all and lets the crowd do the whole thing. Especially certain songs— "Best Ever

Last time I saw them play Darnielle prefaced the song by saying that it's a really personal one and he'd rather people not sing along, which is a pretty big deal at concerts where the entire crowd sings every word.

Yo I know you probably aren't trying to start shit but high-school John Darnielle was an ongoing child abuse victim and painkiller addict so this is kind of a shitty thing to say.

Scorpio's probably the best one-shot character in the entire series.

That episode is 18 minutes of great jokes and then 4 minutes of Paul McCartney having no sense of comic timing or charm and just sucking every drop of life out. If they'd just had Lisa talking with Apu it would be a classic for me, but McCartney's scene just feels so wooden and unfunny.

Yeah, I can't hate it because it really is an incredibly funny episode. I think if you consider as a Treehouse of Horror-style "what if?" episode it stands as a classic.

The King of Pain pops up in an Emperor Norton biography I read— he wore all red and peddled snake oil and pain relievers.

I've always loved the element that Dream seems to be the only one of her siblings that Delirium really gets along with. It's so appropriate, and their interactions are, uh, freaking adorable.

The joke's also on the kind of girl that the audience is assuming Rita to be— the carefree, anything-goes dreamer with wide eyes and a relentless spirit for life. (Yes. I know there is a term for it). It's about the fact that in the real world, that kind of character is… you know.
