I like you. The line "I keep that white girl like a white man" is a seriously damning condemnation of the racist origins of a lot of common hip-hop subjects (yellowbones, etc). Intentional or not, it's genius. And lines like "Yellow Lamborghini, same color my butter tins"? No one else would even think to say that.

She doesn't "act like it's the worst thing ever;" she comes back with calling the dude ugly. Her whole onstage persona is being kind of snooty and bitchy. Idk, I think she pulls it off better than Anthony Jeselnik does.

I liked it up until the end. The [spoilers] rape scene didn't fit in with my conception of the character at all, and it came off as mean-spirited toward both him and the woman. The main thing separating the book from being shallow sex comedy was how three-dimensional all the characters were, how they start off as

This kind of gives me hope for the future of Weezer's critical reputation.

I like that the couple authors he brings up just happen to be the classic Facebook profile, pretend-to-read-them ones. I love them, but if they're the only examples of good fiction you can come up with then you're not making a great case for yourseld.

It's more popular because there's less of it, there's less of a focus on the classics so people are more keen to keep up with contemporary works, and kids are better consumers in general. I guess what we'd call "adult" literature is much wider and less focused on series and sequels. Everyone has a list of books

And then it turns out that it's not actually a reality show. It's an anti-twist.

Really? I thought that it started out as if it was going to be half-assedly self-aware, then the twist is that it's actually a horror movie about blood rituals itself and not just a meta-criticism of them.

I just hadn't heard of it or seen ads for it in a while.
