I so want this to be leading to the triple-reveal of her colleagues betrayal and Peter's betrayal over the election. And a truly dramatic reaction from Alicia that would make all these episodes of watching worthwhile.

Monica. I remember her name but I don't like her.
Maybe he'll just disappear, like so many others. Everybody seems to be acting like he and Alicia have this budding romance … it'd be just like this show to never see him again after this episode.
Hey, but at least we found Matan. He's with the Grinder!
I know. The show has always been trying to say that. But they didn't want her when she herself was running for office, did they? The entire idea that Peter keeps getting elected is also very hard to swallow.
OMG, that (Alicia's storyline) was one of the saddest things I've ever watched. I think I need some therapy now.
I agree, it does go just a bit too far. But people do need some warning, if they are going to watch this one, so I'm ok with keeping the "horror" in there.
I have some of those. A Chipmunks one and my beloved Wonder Woman from Hardee's in the '70s, And I am terrified to even touch them, much less use them, because it seems like they'll just shatter at the slightest thing.
Yes. I almost also said that I am, however, happy for Mendelsohn, getting a Spielberg film and all … but I wasn't sure just how invested everyone would be in all of the intricacies of my feelings about Ben Mendelsohn, whom I've never even met, and his career. :-)
I made it to just after the Ladyhawke debate. Skipped to the end to find out, "Hey where did this one go?" but yeah, I couldn't stick around to see if it would get better or not either. Probably only made it as far as I did because a co-worker loves the book, so I wanted to give it a fair chance.
I am sad to see that Mendelsohn, whom I love, might be in something that I have so little interest in seeing. Mostly because it will take away time he could be spending making something that I want to see. Tried to read and hated the book.
Of course she was! I did wonder how recently she'd been on, but hadn't yet looked through the recent episodes. But it's almost irrelevant … she's on these shows so much. (Or was. When it was Jon & Stephen.)
It's in my top three, no matter what any of the other lists say. (Along with Fargo and Justified.) My second tier includes a lot more, but those get top billing.
I know I'm too late for anyone to read this, but I really enjoyed this episode — for a change, lately! Seeing the C grade a few days ago, i was braced for something terrible, given the way things have been going, and instead enjoyed each and every part of it. (Not that I'm saying i think it was perfect.)
(1) Cary…
I have been so utterly charmed, amused and moved by Getting On. I need to get on that and watch the third season. But yeah, it's a bit of a hard sell if trying to tell people to watch it. Even explaining the poop samples seems a bit strange when they haven't seen it.
I watched the whole show and especially enjoyed that, when he needed something to balance on his head to learn Jonathan Groff's walk from Hamilton, Stephen had books by Doris Kearns Goodwin just randomly behind his desk.
Haha. Yes, maybe. But here, you're going to be right more often if you go with sarcasm.
Upvoted for use of "lifeless" there.
I'm watching The Wire on there now.
That's a very good point. And we did always know that Lou was going to make it. It's other shows that made us afraid for Hank, not something I can lay blame to Fargo season two itself for.
