The thing you must remember about this "movie" is that it didn't make the AVClubs worst movies of that year list. Which means than Rabid Nathan must have liked it.

The only redeeming thing this "movie" has going for it is if you find yourself in conversation with someone who says that they enjoyed this movie, you can stop talking to them and just walk away.

Almost bought the Butlerian Jihad last weekend- just came across it in a bookshop. I think I was somewhat aware that it existed but as it wasn't a Frank Herbert (though it was his son) I decided against buying it.
