If only there were some series on the AV Club that explained Bush within the context of the rest of 90s music…

Red Scorpion
"his writing and producing credits on the anti-commie Dolph Lundgren vehicle Red Scorpion"
Back on topic: when was the last time Reese Witherspoon was radiant and NOT annoying? I choose Walk the Line.
Economics comment that no one cares about
"Wilson, a major-league pitcher with… a bank account to rival the gross domestic product of a small nation. "
Spoiler for Black Swan sort of: A lot of Black Swan's "what's real, what's not real" stuff and the shock cuts (oh my God, her mother is in the room! oh my God, Mila Kunis is alive!) didn't fit. If the movie's supposed to be about how Natalie Portman goes mad as she achieves greatness (already a cliched premise), that…
Not a good year
That's not a great top 5. Black Swan and Inception both have some serious problems. Black Swan's thematically all over the place, and Inception's plot doesn't work.
I just checked, the Xmas EP is on iTunes.
Couldn't get into it
Cliche after cliche after cliche.
I'm on board with both "Birthday Boy" and "Drag the Lake Charlie." I can't think of another song that hit me the way "Birthday Boy" did: once I heard the first lyrics, "Which one's the birthday boy, she said, I ain't got all night," I knew it was going to be a favorite.
Lollapalooza
Either Lollapalooza's very good at picking out good music, or the AV Club likes to pick musicians that were featured at Lollapalooza. Pretty sure I've seen all these list-makers there over the last 3-4 years:
Don't know what Steve Hyden's comment about Midlake is supposed to mean. I saw them live in Tucson, and there were some problems with the show. The crowd sucked, the stage was too small for them, and they probably should have picked a different set list (ending with "Branches" was nuts). But the music was still…
Nevermind, thanks.
Is this still happening?
I didn't get an invite. ;_;
Pakistan Sensationalism
Pakistan is not one of the most dangerous places on Earth. It was unkind to the Bhuttos. But it doesn't have the dangers of disease like much of Africa, or the murder rates of Latin America, or the constant war of the Congos. Everyone I know from Pakistan would be annoyed, if not offended,…
"She invited the wolf whistles by talking about her Avery character."
Best Worst Movie
Not best documentary.
TV Club
I would like to nominate this for TV Club Classic. If you SNL and SCTV hold up, this should hold up too.
Kinski vs Corgan
I'm a huge fan of this series. Thanks for the Billy Corgan / Klaus Kinski comparison, I'm going to remember that one. Except I'll be thinking of Kinski in Nosferatu.
Tragic ending
Is it too much to ask for an ending where they all die?
"is Keira Knightley even a thing anymore? I thought she was old news back in 2005 and I can't think of any great movies she's ever been in"
