"Big Stan"
I was hoping "Big Stan" was the name of one of the villains, and not Rob Schneider's character, so we could put Big Stan in the same category as Sansho the Bailiff. I must find some other reason to put Big Stan in the same category as Sansho the Bailiff.

The Twitter updates are the best thing I've seen on Twitter. Well done, Mr Rabin.

Oh yeah, Coraline. So, Coraline, Up, and Monster vs. Aliens?

Oscar nominee?
Will this movie be nominated for an Oscar alongside Up, and some other animated movie this year? I give it close to even odds, leaning towards no.

Well done. Now that makes two of us, TS.

First-Generation Americans
Interesting review; good to hear that there's a competent director telling stories that sound important.

Mathematicians
I hate movies like this because mathematicians never even meet people as attractive as Virginie Ledoyen. Case #2: A Beautiful Mind.

Gotta agree with OtP here.

On the plus side, if this movie gets extremely popular, people from Connecticut will have to get the shit that people from Fargo have got for the last 13 years.

Would nominate both The Gospel According to St. Matthew and Scenes from a Marriage.

When I got old
I shoud bookmark this page, so years from now I can look back to remember when exactly I realized I lost touch with what was "good" music. :(

Sure why not?
This is far too convenient for me not to attend. Must decide if I should give Ms Koski a hard time or not.

Nice to see ubiquitous commenters phel, prison wine, el zilcho, et al are all talking to each other on twitter now. Maybe we can now use the comment boards here for serious AVClub business. THE AVCLUB IS SERIOUS BUSINESS.

That last question's kind of funny. "Do you feel you've gotten better as you've got older?" This girl is younger than me, and I'M young. She's been acting for what, a whole 10 years now?

GOB's not on board.

I enjoy Kelly Clarkson, but I feel like I should be chastised for this.

On the plus side, it only costs $7.99 to get it on iTunes, as opposed to the normal $9.99

RABIN RINGTONE 1: "Telephones. Simplifying man's communication while paradoxically keeping us farther apart. Right now, your cell phone is ringing. This obscure Gremlins 2 reference is brought to you by Nathan Rabin. And the AV Club. Live well."

If you're gonna FAIL then, might as well FAIL big then.

How did someone beat me to making this comment? Seriously, though, I'm glad to see that there's a mobile AVClub.
