@avclub-154ff8944e6eac05d0675c95b5b8889d:disqus , thanks for providing all this trivia. I saw these shows on DVD years after they ended, but I feel like I have a small window on what it was like to be in the fandom at the time because of your comments. I learned so much!

The attitude adjustment he has in season 5 is really enjoyable. I can picture him ending up pretty well-adjusted by this show's standards, sort of a happy warrior (because you just know he's going to fight when it's worth doing).

I love the way Kane says "flunky" there. So much frustration in that line.

Or is it the other way around?

This isn't a comment about the philosophical implications of the show. This is a comment to point out that two insane punches are thrown in this episode: Illyria dispersing Vail's head about the room and Angel punching Hamilton until his friggin' neck snaps. What happens with Lorne tears at me nearly as much as Wesley. Even the survivors of "Not Fade Away" have to give up something tremendous.

Co-signed. Tremendous work for a really long haul, Noel. Thank you.

Greendale dorms definitely have cable; it being out was why he followed around Annie and Shirley being cops.

Nimoy hit that just right, and what I really liked was that he didn't say "one," but simply "I am." Biblical allusion to signal replacing God ahoy!

I could have sworn I heard him talking about having seen a performance of that song that The Eagles did just after 9/11 and being struck by it, but I can't find any reference online. Maybe the commentaries or DVD extras? Or I'm way off base; not like that hasn't happened before.

And the phrase comes from The Eagles, a band I'd not have expected to influence a Buffyverse show.

I referred to the first future episode as Epitaph Earth One, but maybe it fits better here. Though surely somebody else thought of that before I did.

I listened to my first MBMBaM episode this week thanks to the MaxFunDrive and really enjoyed it. It'll make my regular rotation soon.
