Yeah, you gotta do that in the winter, too, to make sure the pipes don't freeze overnight.

He's completely unrestrained now that he doesn't have to worry about getting re-elected!  Any day now, he'll be coming to take people's guns, outlaw Christianity, install Sharia Law in place of the Constitution, and force everyone into a gay marriage!  1776 will commence again if you come for my 32-ounce soda!

Well, they might be more upset about the selling-arms-to-Iran-to-get-American-hostages-in-Lebanon-released part of the deal, but who knows?

"We don't know why they made up the lie.  We certainly don't know why they couldn't have come up with a more plausible lie…"

You forgot "socialist-Commie-Nazi."

I don't have cable, so I would keep nothing!

@avclub-58238e9ae2dd305d79c2ebc8c1883422:disqus , I've never been to an NFL game, mostly because ticket prices seem to be around $200 for a non-rivalry game in the middle of the season, when both teams are pretty much out of the playoff picture.

I just wanted to pop in and say that, as an urban planner, I'm floored that there is a Robert Moses gimmick poster on this site!  I'd also like to add that Moses's legacy is mixed: he really democratized access to a lot of places in New York, especially beaches; but he did so by emphasizing the private car traveling

@jerkheadface:disqus , cotton candy, huh?  Would that be the pink stuff?

I liked Moulin Rouge alright.  I haven't seen Boondock Saints, because I've heard it's awful and I've seen some of the obnoxiousness in the fans that you mention, @avclub-620982009915db2a0b4a49e224bad30c:disqus  — but the thing is, everyone I know who really loves Boondock Saints is a woman with ties to New England

I totally remember Jacko as the Energizer pitch-man, and was confused to see supermarket tabloids using that name as a nickname for Michael Jackson ("Jacko" rhymes with "wacko").  I liked Jacko (the Australian)'s style, and even featured a hand-drawn picture of him in an Energizer singlet on a science fair project I

And Walt Whitman was too plebeian, hairy, and vulgar.

What?  Well, if that's true, the article should make some mention of it.

Re: Kat Dennings: "she’s gonna be huge."

I haven't read the book.  I just saw the movie.  And I took its paleontology to be impeccable, because, look at how expensive it all was!

@avclub-b7784c3d4ede54a8f3e13b304f3a991a:disqus , that all may be true (I am not and never was a dedicated viewer of any of those shows).  White people, after all, do constitute 78.1% of the American population.

Of course the Romans had dinosaurs, @avclub-d0dfbf82a0232e4c63faf5016c25b7d5:disqus .  Tyrannosaurus Rex is a Latin name, after all!

I think that's true only if it's not washed and ready to use when you buy it.  Based on what they said once on America's Test Kitchen, if a vegetable (like spinach) is in a bag that says "washed and ready to use," it's been triple-washed in absolutely immaculate facilities, and you're introducing more microbes to it

I totally had a dream last night that I was with someone and we ran into a T. rex.  I told that other person to hold perfectly still, since T. rex could only see objects in motion, but when that dinosaur started sniffing this other guy like a dog, he started to run, and the dinosaur chased after him.  So I ran the

[indignant] What do you mean, "your kind"?
