"there’s no escalation, no conclusion, just a series of brutal bouts in the name of grudges that will never be settled. It’s an involving but frustrating peek into a private culture involved in a self-defeating cycle of violence and mythologizing."

Incorrect.  "Pump Up The Volume" FTW.

Rob Lowe is the physical 1%.  I'm going to start a bongo circle outside his house until he gives us shlubs some of those pecks.

^ Perfect.

I would like to see Adam Sandler and Gaspar Noe collaborate for an Adventures in Babysitting remake.

Pseudo pro-Rand comment:

But that drum circle is making a difference in the world.  Ask Kanye.

I'll feed your twatter.

Nice, an old timer thread.  So I have a question for all the other old timers in the room.  Why do most of the bands on this list sound like they're trying to imitate bad 80s music?  At first I thought they were being ironical, but then it occurred to me that most of the artists (and their fans) on this list weren't

I lived in Boulder for a few years.  They still serving exclusively retro beers down at the Sundowner?

I completely agree about Watch the Throne, @zebbart:disqus .  Although I loved MBDTF, I thought Watch the Throne was underwhelming.  Not terrible, but not even close to one of the top albums of the year.

I wish you hadn't said that.  Now every time he sings, "That a broken heart . . .", all I'm hearing is, "And she's buying a . . .".

Maybe they can watch the new Muppets movie and it will balance them out.

I have no problem with Pitchfork.  I generally tend to be on the same page as them for many of their revues, but I think my favorite reviews ever were Pitchfork's reviews of Jet's albums.  One is just a video of a monkey peeing into his own mouth, and the other is a fictitious conversation between a venue owner and

BOOOOOOOODDDDDDDYYYYYY CAAAAAAARRRRREEEEESSSS!!!!!!!!

Not for me.  Sean O'Neal had almost exactly the same list I have.  It was spooky.  The Weeknd and James Blake were the big breakouts for me this year.

^Soundtrack of Boulder, Colorado.

AV Club has it at 0, which is above 1, but doesn't make a 1 - 25 list.

Not even just hip college kids.  I'm a genuinely unhip dad and House of Balloons was my favorite album of the year.  Oh, and in regard to @avclub-cf4c98ca050fcd91ae7a5645c2e7f071:disqus , Jame's Blake's LP was my second.
