You can't just change what Disqus looks like without consulting me. People attach a great deal of importance to appearashugha, what are you doing? Stop you can't do this to me. No no no no.

You know assuming the review for "The Day of the Doctor" goes up right after the first broadcast, we'll have two multi-Doctor story reviews within an hour of each other.

I think "The Enemy of the World" will come up in fan rankings now that the rest of it has been found. "Web of Fear" on the other hand might come down a bit. I doubt it'll have the same fall from grace "Tomb of the Cybermen" had, but there seems to be some "backlash" already, at least on Gallifrey Base.
As for this

"I'm going to go with "The Underwater Menace" and "The Moonbase" since those have the least episodes missing."
Well we know for sure that "The Moonbase" will be animated, and it was hinted that "The Underwater Menace" would be as well. So I'd rather hold off on having those two reviewed until after their DVD release,

This does have one of the greatest companion exits doesn't it. No big speeches, no anguished cries, no over the top music, just a few small words and a couple of heartbreaking glances.
If any of you haven't heard the commentary on the Special Edition release with RTD and Katy Manning you really need to, it's very

Two parallels between my college move in days, and this episode.
1) When I first went to college, I went out of state. However my whole family also came to get me set up, so what should have been a three and a half hour drive turned into a nearly five hour road trip. (Mostly due to staggered bathroom breaks, getting

A generally overlooked story. My favorite thing about the DVD is the commentary, specifically Chris Boucher's parting words. As he was unable to attend the recording he sent an email to be read at certain points. At the very end he leaves us with this (paraphrased):
"I'll tell you the secret to life. The secret to life

I think before we do any of those, we should do the other anniversary celebratory story, "Dimensions in Time". That way, no matter how bad a story is, we'll know it won't be the absolutely worst story ever.

@avclub-52daa17a306006563a5361c316f87c7b:disqus To be fair to "Death to the Daleks" (a sentence I never thought I'd say), I think the cliffhanger to episode one is really good. Usually it's either, turn a corner, see a Dalek cue end titles; or see a Dalek, it says you will be exterminated cue end titles, but here it

You might want to play a bit "hard to get"

Favorite episode: Mixology Certification

He comes from a land with no sun!

I though Big Red was Cornell, up on the hill, and Ithaca itself is Little Red. Then again, I'm from T-burg so I could be wrong. Go Blue Raiders.

Thank you!! I'm getting tired of seeing people recommending the classic series because of how cheap the effects are, and fun it is to laugh along with them. Granted, a lot of the people doing these recommendations still highlight how great the stories genuinely are.

Right off the bat I want to say that it was a fun hour of TV and was a nice way to mellow out after an annoying night at work. Having said that, I think, considering how well this show has done homages in the past, "Lassie Jerky" is definitely a weaker offering. Lassie and Jules' arrival was so contrived that it took

Yeah too bad it wasn't on either the U.S. VHS release or the DVD.

Agreed. And I'll nominate "The Daleks' Master Plan"

Agreed. Season 18 had a new series style "arc" of a repeated word/phrase/idea, that word being entropy, i.e things end, they fall apart. Which is similar to the specials of 2009, but those just focus on things ending and play it up as an unfair tragedy. Whereas Season 18 has a sense that things will end and that's ok

@avclub-eac75edc18b8546c46893fe4b75ab995:disqus I'm in, now I just need a wig for my helmet.

Really no mention of Alex's giant Love Actually gingerbread display? Of course if anyone could build it, it would be Alex (and let's be honest, during construction you know she ate at least enough gingerbread and candy to build a second display).
