Really no mention of Alex's giant Love Actually gingerbread display? Of course if anyone could build it, it would be Alex (and let's be honest, during construction you know she ate at least enough gingerbread and candy to build a second display).

@avclub-64ad8f3af92ef8d9a1c7dfd7265e577d:disqus It wasn't intentional, Planet of the Giants, and The Dalek Invasion of Earth were filmed as part of Season One. They were held over to be aired in the autumn.

Oh dead G-d I didn't even get that until you said something. As some one whose bread and butter is racial based humor I am truly ashamed.

Yes. I'm one actually. I'll admit it is one of, if not the weakest era in the show's history, but Colin was a great Doctor. He had rough edges in season 22, but in The Trial of a Time Lord he hit his stride, finding how to work with the lines he was given. Compare his first scene with Nicola in The Mysterious Planet…

Still not quite right, all these ideas still needed to come across in the form of a good story for television. Whitaker was versed in the nuts and bolts of scripting so he could take ideas and make a mostly coherent televised story. JNT had no scripting background and by most accounts was uninterested in the story…

Verity was an inexperienced Producer but she had David Whitaker who was a very experienced writer/script editor, so the comparison doesn't quite work.

I'll agree with you on the first three, but I think it really is time to start seriously considering the missing and incomplete serials. Now we all know our way around the internet and could find video recons, or if one prefers the narrated soundtracks they're a bit harder on torrents (as far as I could tell), but…

Well I won't deny that the First Doctor is more conniving than he's given credit for, but the Trojan Horse bit in "The Myth Makers" is done out of desperation. He rejects the idea of the Horse as nonsense Homer came up with in episode two, before his ideas of manned flight end up being undoable and he has no other…
