when the hell does Certified Copy come out on DVD?

imo, Turnstile Blues and Moonlight Mile are better Young and Stones choices, respectively. How about Tea for One by Zeppelin?

great, now you can get somebody in here to do Cale's Child's Christmas In Wales! I WON'T QUIT TALKING ABOUT IT UNTIL YOU DO IT

i didn't listen to the podcast but i saw Cassandra's Dream tonight and i loved it. am i the only one?

probably not true, but i recall seeing on IMDB that he was the original choice for Sgt. Hartman in Full Metal Jacket, but Kubrick met him and was too creeped out by him. as with most things, it's a cool story so i'll just assume it is true.

The Who-Christmas
John Cale-Child's Christmas in Wales

i'm not really familiar with him outside of Cars, but My Machines is my favorite song from the last Battles album and probably my favorite individual song from an album this year. plus, the video is pretty cool.

"Betty Whitesploitation" is so accurate. every time i see her delivering one of her "LOL OLD PEOPLE SAYING INAPPROPRIATE THINGS" jokes anymore, it seems like it's always the same delivery, like she's just reading off of cue cards or something.

World At War is awesome. i miss the days when the History Channel consisted primarily of grainy interview footage of aging veterans and combat footage narrated by a British person.

did you tell them that they are an A.V. Club meme?

it is a pulpy story, that's why it's good. on one level, if you took out the sex and gore it would've made a fine film noir (i've seen it compared to Out Of The Past, which makes sense) but then you have all the Cronenberg-isms just beneath the surface. i like it more than Eastern Promises, actually.

shut the fuck up, Lobsters.

Wata is definitely no mere mortal.

Cronenberg is directing, so she'll probably get snubbed.

so, you want Keira Knightly to REDACTED

Fiennes and Richardson got robbed.

i don't.

Joe Perry?

uh, yeah. so, we're in agreement?

because he gets levels of attention that are way fucking out of proportion with what he is, a disposable teen pop singer.
