Shinido (who as far as i know is still active at age 99) has made three of the best Japanese films i've seen: this, Onibaba and The Naked Island (which will be coming to Criterion presumably in the not too distant future.) i like him because unlike a lot of Japanese directors, he knows when to have his characters shut

since you forgot:

who knew video game reviews could be so entertaining? keep it up, guys! i'm off to try and beat my best time in Super Metroid again.

just rent Zombie.

never heard of it, but sounds interesting. to Spotify!

i just don't see this working without the videos. in fact, i don't see this working at all, given that Judge seems to basically admit that he's mainly doing this because MTV begged him to.

Days Of Heaven is the only thing i've found him tolerable in, and he's pretty wooden even in that. but it's ok there, because the actors really don't matter.

you must be a lot of fun at parties.

dammit Spotify, get on this shit.

love these guys. any band that still brings when playing to a grand total of less than a dozen people earns my respect.

so does Harry Belafonte.

i know. but it's the principle of the matter, dammit.

i used to hate DiCaprio, but i've come to think that he's actually a pretty good actor. Matt Damon and George Clooney have taken his place as actors i mainly hate for being handsome and successful. (actually i find Damon rather smug, plus he seems to be in every goddamn thing these days, but usually have to

you found Tarantino worse than Rose McGowan? or Fergie, for that matter?

Modell, consider yourself my arch nemesis from now on.

i'm in the minority, but i really like Argento's The Stendhal Syndrome. maybe because it takes a certain…something, shall we say, to direct your own daughter in a brutal rape scene.
