I think Cazwell is awesome, and hilarious. But he's not so much a rapper who happens to be gay, as he is a gay rapper. If that makes sense. Like, when he performs he has two male backup dancers who wear very little.

This is how I end up reading comments on Slate.

Dan Telfer (this one) is my cousin! (And he is awesome and you should buy this.)

This book was amazing. I finished it a week ago. I couldn't put it down.  I even read while stopped for some construction traffic. I was disappointed when my line of cars was finally allowed through, because I wanted to keep reading.

My best friend was diagnosed in 2006 after a bunch of weird neurological symptoms, and luckily it hasn't progressed much at all. There are a lot of really great new drugs out now.  Definitely think positive.  I was so freaked out when she was diagnosed, but it really seems like nowadays there's no reason to assume

I'm enjoying reading this sentence as if it is about a missing episode of Sex and the City.

I never thought of Glory Days as sad. I knew all the lyrics, they just don't make me sad. They seem to say to me that the feeling of missing the past is universal. The part about how someday they'll look back and see the current times as glory days sounds rueful, but, like, "ah, well, what can you do? Things didn't

He's a pointer that can't point.

I've never seen this, but I just wanted to say that I enjoyed the New York Dolls reference in the summary on the main page.  And then I thought… "wait, maybe that isn't where that line originated…" Then I used Google and learned something.  The Shangri-La's.  Good to know…

I think Tyrannorabbit meant that her movies would only appeal to women who never got past third grade. Not all women.

She put out a pretty successful book about vegan cooking semi-recently.  There are some really good recipes in it.

I predict 4 more trailers.

Me and someone else once also decided that those born very close to 1980 don't quite fit in Generations X or Y.  We suggest, for those of us in that narrow window, Generation IJ (the Dutch combo letter, i and j written together, pronounced "i").

I just want to note that I'm watching Mad Men right now on Netflix, and after reading this am about to put MLP on next.  Funny.  And I totally second what you said.  Sometimes that IS what you need.
