Thank you for bringing up Sunny, the 8th season was fantastic and got more laughs out of me than most of what aired this year.

"The Chickening" might actually be my favorite ep from this whole season, certainly one of the funniest.

Earn a living, the actors must.

Some of the jokes from Neutopia really worked for me.  This little exchange made me crack up hard -

We've still got Dan Harmon and 5 great actors in the mix, I think some good TV can still come out of this next season.  Of course if it were Gillian Jacobs that were leaving, I doubt I would be able to retain any enthusiasm whatsoever.

Another example of how people in my non-internet life act completely contrary to the people I discuss TV with online.  I can't say a single critical word about P&R IRL without someone going bananas on me.  I guess I just hang with weird people.

You hit the nail on the head. S2 & S3 are just a little crazier in a good way.

Jessica Walter is a national treasure for sure.  Suck it Betty White!

I'd award the best-episode-of-season-4 crown to "Herstory of Dance" but that's a bit like being the skinniest kid at fat camp.

Truth.  I really wish I liked the Jim Rash epsidoe everyone else around here gives a pass too, but it's just not good.

To be fair, he's been willing to tear into his own episodes as well, just check out his opinions on the worst episodes of season 2 from the AV club walk-through.

You made every point I was thinking and then you dropped that song on me, get out of my brain, man.  That song is my freakin' anthem.

That's an interesting bit about some of the cast noticing the decline in quality of the season 4 scripts and voicing their concerns, I like to think they're a relatively smart group of actors.

So one of the rumors floating out there is that Chris McKenna is also involved in the supposed talks of returning to the show, and the show-runners from season 4 just aren't interested in returning to the show for season 5.

It seems that there is a minor theme running through these episodes of the Bluths realizing that no matter what else, deep down they're Bluths for better or (mostly) worse.  I especially loved watching George Michael embrace his inner Bluth when he started lying about his software.

Also, I think its pretty funny how the end of season 4 dovetails PERFECTLY into the AD movie plot rumors that were leaked a year or two ago if my memory serves correctly.

I think of this new season as the long dark night of the soul for the Bluth family.  I wish we got to see more of whole family interacting together (the strongest comedies are usually carried by the strength of their ensemble's chemistry, right?) but it seems the whole goal of this season was to get each Bluth as

Fool me once, shame on you.  Fool me twice, you get punched in the face.

I don't think I've ever enjoyed George Michael so much as in that very last scene, it just clicked for me.

Mid-2000's me is very pleased as well
