Read more to me like the writer doesn't like the Nightly Chat Show form and is a bit um… critical of Conan for sticking to it. So it's genre hate spilling onto a pretty good set of episodes, particularly for failing to transcend the genre. "Fun for what it was" isn't enough for some reviewers.

And yet they could still have found a way to call attention to it with out begging on it. Charity, choosing an artist or project they like to talk about, something. I just find them using a resource that supposed to be for people who lack money or connections when they have both in spades really tacky.

Does it bother any one else that they're soliciting from Kickstarter? They have agents and connections, they don't really need people to fund this for them. Unless they're giving the money to charity or something, this seems… weird. And not the usual Palmer/Gaiman kind of way.

The Taman Shud case freaks me out way more than a simple John Doe case should. I think it's because we theoretically have so much information but it all adds up to nothing.

re: one-trick authors: never read Neil Gaiman's American Gods, Anansi Boys, Stardust and Neverwhere in a row. Let them breathe, take a break, whatever. Gaiman goes to the same well A LOT, and while he's great at it, it gets really noticeable when you read his stuff back-to-back.

People seemed more concerned about the children here in the good ole' USA who are also Asian, Facetious Dick. And the other children who will watch this movie and see that once again, evil has darker skin while the great white hope once again descends to save the day.

I thought Venture was delayed because Publick and Hammer were late with the scripts. And the scripts were late because two seasons right on top of each other + the shirt club = really bad idea.

Heh, I love the Zizmor ads if only because he used the same picture for both his generic success patient and for his wife in his "we <3 NYC after 9/11" ads. And that the latter ads stayed up until well into '06. Thanks, Dr. Zizmor!

I saw the t0ur last year and he looked okay. He lost a little weight, I think, and he shaved. But yeah, he won't be looking better than me in a dress anytime soon. But as long as he can pull off Bruno Puntz Jones, I don't mind. And he IS still hilarious, and that is always sexy.

I haven't seen any claims that racism got scans_daily was deleted due to racism. Only that Peter David is, besides being a jerk ("Ants don't condescend to eagles") also kind of racist. Not as causation, but in "and another thing!" sort of way. Care to link? And the sexism thing was addressed in an earlier thread.

Can't it be both? I stopped reading his blog because of general jerky-ness, and wouldn't you know it, he was jerky in the scans_daily post that lead people to believe he got them suspended.
