All this has happened before and will happen again and all that.

Well, cutting the headlines from the Onion to paste them on Star Wars can be dangerous, even with round tipped scissors. An adult should always be there to supervise.

Sounds like one for his children books actually. I read Groosham Grange and its sequel a huge number of times when I was 9 or 10. I had utterly forgotten it existed until this newswire. It's the story of kids who go to a wizard school and learn wizardly stuff, and it's actually quite morbid, a lot of them die but it's

Never thought about it like that, and it is actually very true. One of the things I love about these books is how nice and easy going Peter is. Anyway, it was nice fangirling over this series with the two of you. I'm eagerly awaiting the next book ! (this winter I believe)

Much more what I had in mind indeed…

Favourite book in the series ? For me it's Broken Homes. I was especially fascinated by all the architectural utopia stuff.

It's just in between novels, and apparently won't delay them, and the story is as nice and fun as ever. So you should be pleased. But it almost ruined the mental image I had of Peter Grant. So I guess you should be disappointed as well. So my advice would be read it if you can concentrate on the words and sort of

I discovered yesterday that Ben Aaronovitch was writing a Rivers of London comic book in between two novels of the same series. I thoroughly enjoy these books, and the writing in the comics is just as fun. The art, however, is lacking, which was a disappointment.

Well, SPOILER (I guess ?) apparently Sarah Lance is in the spin off of the spin off, so…

Maybe his name means that he is a nerd only when he is in the basement

This comment read in Archer's voice is perfect

I really enjoyed Zero Year and Zero City and I had the same reactions as you to Black Mirror, which I loved, and the Courts of Owls arc. I liked the story, and especially enjoyed how the art changed, especially with a much wider colour palette in Zero City. I thought young Bruce was well done, with the art perfectly

I knew I shouldn't have mixed Shakespeare with Bigfoot erotica and law textbooks !

It works too if the system doesn't work !

What's with GJI and teachers doing stuff tonight ?

The funny thing is that in French, the equivalent word, con, almost completely lost its primary meaning and now only means stupid, dumb, or maybe asshole. Though considered vulgar, it's used very frequently in everyday conversations, in such mundane contexts as "Oh, what a con, I forgot my keys" or something like that.

Grayson ! As fun as ever although I thought the big reveal was a bit cheap. But I like that the character, despite being cocky and quippy in action just isn't cut out for the spy job, being basically a nice guy. Agent 1 is pretty great as well, as was his decision at the end.

I don't like the Sacrilege as much because there are huge mistakes about Etruscan and Roman religion and it annoyed me. The action was good though. To kill a centurion was also awesome.

The Decius Metellus mysteries are really good. They give a good panorama about ancient Rome, and the historical inaccuracies are not too blatant. The narrator also sounds like a Roman, not a modern man put in a Roman set piece as the reader's proxy. So read them is what I'm trying to say. The Tribune's curse might be

It's like the old Monty Pythons joke : American beer is like making love on a boat. It's fucking close to water.
