I don't want to, but may have to. Tenure is hard to get right now. Problem is I live in a country where PhD reads as "unemployable wanker" to most recruiters in the real world.

Go Banthas !
I don't hate my old professors that much

That headline was unnecessarily cruel.
"Jessica is a modern business woman. But it's sometimes hard to have a family life at the same time. So she goes on an epic quest to find the best washing powder in order to gain some time." Tears ! Laughter ! Misogynistic message ! Ratings !

Could be nice. The book series is quite good and interesting if not stellar. I hope they shot in Northumberland, there should be gorgeous views of Lindisfarne and Bamburgh (never mind the fact that the castle is more recent)
It's a dangerous phrase to say…
Totally agree. I wish he'd be the pilot or something. And he could be married to the badass second in command. And the captain would have opposed the Empire at some point, but would be mainly smuggling at that point, and that mission would be him regaining a political conscience, and…
Lois ? Is that you ?
EDIT : I thought you were replying to Paper Tiger's comment. Sorry.
The comments are a really fun and horrifying read indeed.
With our new drive through service !
Read the first trade of Johns and Romita's Superman, based on the recommendation of this site. I was pleasantly surprised.
Yes ! We need to escape the Cylons !
Are they so desperate about this book that they offer cash in order to get people to read it ?
They'd listen to Swearengen in full cursing mode, right ? Who wouldn't ?
Just checked, the Oxford edition is available on Kindle. That's one more thing on my to read list.
