You mean the whole James thing ?
You mean the whole James thing ?
As it nails pretty much everything !
It's a common problem I think when comics are more diverse. As a woman I'm often annoyed by female characters who sometimes go from being characters to being Messages. That's actually why I prefer the current run of Batgirl to Gail Simone's. Less on the nose.
EDIT : Even though it's a TV series, I think Person of…
This isn't entirely relevant to this article, but I'd like to thank whichever commenter recommended to read the Expanse series by James Corey. I just finished the five published books, and it was a very good and entertaining read.
I prefer it to Carpenter's too, even though I really like the second movie.
The question we must ask ourselves, my dear Watson, is "Where Wallace at ?"
Now imagine a mix between this movie and Will Smith's Wild Wild West. It can be worse.
Looks good, sounds fun. I'll try it.
Too bad they didn't focus more on the charm thing then. The review reminded me of the very charming "Thing from another world", which is filled with delightful banter and, oh, yes, there's a monster, let's destroy it and get back to being charming. I guess I'll go rewatch it instead.
Weirdly enough, these awful pictures really make me want to watch Olympus. Is the scenario as terrible as the CGI ?
"Receding hairline, British, end of list" ? No. Let's not forget abs. (And also the ability to be funny. Which doesn't seem to be the case in that movie.)
Maybe it's standard remake script now. We'll be treated to ghostbysters, the amazyng spyder man and so on.
Characters in comics seem mostly defined by a few core traits that have to be kept intact, and screw the rest. Which is why I completely agree with you on Jimmy Olsen. The purpose of Jimmy Olsen is to be awkward. The casting and the writing really doesn't do justice to the character.
But there's already this guy… https://www.youtube.com/wat…
I agree on Thor. Even though it's extremely nerdy, one of the pleasures of reading Thor came from the link to Norse mythology. Now not so much.
I'm annoyed Waid won't write for DC anymore. I'd love to see him fit in all those new bat-series. And I would have loved to see Waid's Nightwing. But Grayson is awesome so it all turned out well in the end.
It's very disquieting that he knows where to find them and that you'd be interested in one.
Ocelot ! She would be exotic, which is people talk for awesome !
In Waid's run I sort of liked Daredevil's speech to the woman running with the Punisher. About how they were not the only solution, and other people did a legitimate work. It sort of set things right.
Eeeew.
