Seems a bit sadistic. Make her believe she's escaped, and then stab her with the news that it was just a fake-out.

I would also like to point out that La dame aux camélias was written by Alexandre Dumas the younger. The known author was his father.

Some mix between the newsroom and Gotham central then…

That would be nice. Anything with Idris Elba would be nice.

Just asking, why does seemingly everybody hate Death of the Family ? I thought it was ok, rather gripping even. But then again I read it in trades, maybe that's why. The Joker's face thing was certainly over the top, but you can't blame Snyder for Daniel's ideas…

The nice song by the Fatals Picards about the movie says it all. And sums up my reaction in front of the movie.

In DC comics The Demon Knights series was quite fun too. It's unassuming and unashamedly silly. The art is rather nice too.

Thanks ! I wasn't sure wether to see it or not.

So is it worth seeing or not ?

Well to be honest the movie doesn't look like it's aiming to be subtle. So that'd fit right in

Well, not-pop-culture Hercules has also been a comedic figure for centuries, so why not. Hercules is chained up at the beginning of the trailer. So maybe we have the Omphale episode in the movie ?

I misspoke: I wasn't expecting heart so much as a content of some sort. I was disappointed to find what to me looked only like emptiness, however pretty. If you take noir as a genre, one of my favorite movies is the Big Sleep, and it's much more fulfilling, so to speak. Anyways, I don't know, lots of my friends really

Yeah, but what Uncle Deadly might have meant is that the movie was actually advertised to a lot of people as artsy. After reading critics and being told (repeatedly) about it, I went to see it expecting to see a stylish noir. At the end of the movie, my only comment was "meh". Lots of pretty pictures and nice music,

Same here. Tomasi really wrote him as a little boy, not only a pissy child. I also thought he was written more or less as the kid of a medieval lord could have been, which I kind of liked.

Who has a connection to Hal anyway…

He would actually skip the "a". It would be "Renowned cryptologic linguist Eikmeier"

That's actually the only part I marginally enjoyed. That being said, I hated the movie, and enjoyed this part because it looked like a parody.

Aaaaaaw, come on, it's a nice place

Mother's eyes are sparkling diamonds,
Still the moon shows no light
This rose is withered, may God deliver
The rake at the gates of hell tonight

Well I'm not the most objective person. I never enjoyed Duras'books, although I had to study quite a few. Basically what stuck with me is that wonderful sentence from Le ravissement de Lol V Stein : "I do not love you, yet I love you. You understand, don't you ?" Well I don't.
