I enjoy the performances in the show so much I don't care about the whitewashing usually. It's when the writing for their plots is weak or repetitive that more dark would be better.

The Guest: Maybe a year of hype wasn't the way to go about it. I responded to the soundtrack and Dan Stevens' performance the most, but everything else was too dry, wanted more to it. Loved You're Next more with no expectations.

Having not read Notes on the Scandal I felt Blanchett and Dench did a good job but the writing in the movie lacked, it seemed like 1950s evil movie lesbian hysteria. She's horny, she's female, she's old. People are going to die!

I really love the opening/first fifteen to thirty minutes, goddamn hour of The New World, just lovingly put together, at least until David Thewlis takes it in the gut.
