Books: I'm in the home stretch of The Dragon's Path, the first book in Daniel Abraham's The Dagger & The Coin series. It's really good! Geder Palliako's pretty much a piece of human waste, Marcus is fun, and Master Kit is pretty much the best anytime he's around. Really enjoying that a huge part of the plot hinges

…so, based off of this (and a few other people elsewhere), I'm getting my brother (the real Transformers fan in the family) the first few volumes of More Than Meets the Eye and Robots in Disguise for his birthday, largely so I can pawn off them (to be fair, he wasn't poor and married, he would have gotten them long

What a desperately horrible pilot. I mean…sure, melodrama, but nobody talks like these people talk, right? Stein doesn't remember that he once taught a guy who became a billionaire industrialist? Give me a break. Hawkgirl punching Rip Hunter for a decision that she literally made 5 minutes beforehand? Stupid.

Eeeexactly. Terry's wife is the only one who could ever stare down Terry.

One of my absolute favorite sets of books ever. Stephenson just knocks it out of the park with those.

Oh, man, Ewing's one of my favorites. Check out his Zombo series from 2000AD; one of the funniest comics I've ever read in my life.

I feel like Seeley lightens up Grayson some; King's writing outside of Grayson seriously needs a sense of humor.

It's a fun series, but it's got lots of problems (like: I have absolutely zero idea where this book even could go by the end, let alone where it will go). Wes Craig's art is divine, though.

I'm in a similar spot, re: GI Joe, though I also made an exception for Mike Costa's superb series of Cobra books. The first series is, no lie, one of my favorite comics ever.

If you're liking Black Science, check out Remender's Fear Agent series. It did a similar thing to what's going on with Black Science, but, for my money, it's a stronger book.

Wait, I just realized…where the eff is Kaijumax? That comic is freaking amazing.

It's like "Hey, kids, did you ever wish Jack Kirby drew the nuttiest Transformers and GI Joe crossover comic in the world? Here you go." It's just stunning.

Stuff that's missing:
-Grayson
-Two Brothers
-Dark Corridor
-Stray Bullets
-Invisible Republic
-Stray Bullets
-Providence
-Transformers vs. GI Joe (No, I'm not kidding)
-Run Like Crazy Run Like Hell (Tardi's adaptations of Jean-Patrick Manchette's novels are some of my favorite comics of all time)
-Copperhead
-MIND MGMT
-Hip Hop

I feel like this volume of the book is the strongest, too. Busiek's brought in a sadder note that enhances everything that goes on, and it's a joy to read.

I'm absolutely in love with it. It's absurd and crazy and Swierczynski's brand of ultra-violence is exactly what I need.

Books: plowing through Richard K. Morgan's Altered Carbon, which is…man. I love how it takes everything I loved about Chandler (the class struggles, the flawed-yet-noble protagonist who's trying to just stay afloat) and divest itself of everything I hated (the overly wordy prose, primarily) while fusing it with a

Man, this movie was pretty much amazing. I really feel like it's a companion piece to Rocky Balboa, moreso than any of them since the first two. I love the subtle characterization, the way they acted like actual people would.

You should go watch Luther, then. One of the main characters is an insanely hot serial killer.

Books: I finished a couple books. First was Grady Hendrix's Horrorstor, about a haunted IKEA-ripoff furniture store that's laid out like an IKEA catalog, with progressively creepier item descriptions. It's simultaneously funny and creepy, and the ending nods to a great, even-higher-concept sequel that I would kill

Movies: Went and saw Sicario. Felt like a punch in the face. Repeatedly. So effing good.
